It is with most sincere sympathy that we formally announce the passing of, Mrs. Brenda Gurley.  Mrs. Gurley passed on Thursday, September 28,2017 at Archbold Medical Center.

Mrs. Brenda Gail “Bren” Gurley, daughter of Willie O.C. Sr. and Sarah J. Gurley was born July 2, 1959 in Grady County. She attended the public schools of Grady County and was a graduate of Cairo High School Class of 1977. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. Luke P.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Tommie Geter. At St. Luke, Brenda was a faithful and devoted member of the Usher Board until her health declined.

Brenda quietly departed this life Thursday, September 28, 2017 at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her favorite hobby was fishing.  Brenda’s employment history includes various jobs over the years, including lady attendant of Cloud Funeral Home where she served for many years. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Travis R. Gurley.

Gurley Jr. “Willo” of Cairo, GA, Wilson Glenn of Thomasville, GA; four nieces: Marilyn (Osie) Smith of Camilla, GA, Latoisha (William) Brown of Cairo, GA, Marquelle (Alphonzo) Hopkins of Cairo, GA, Allendria Adams of Greenville, NC; two nephews: Kevin (Malicia) Corker of Cairo, GA, Carlos (Andreka) Williford of Cairo, GA; two godchildren: Maurice Herring of Tallahassee, FL, PFC Ryan (Yata) Glenn of Anchorage Alaska; special friends: Ann Herring, Berlisa Baker, Callie Hightower, Adrienne Harrell, and Sandra Holley; and a host of devoted great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
