David Anders Obituary

It is with most sincere sympathy that we formally announce the passing of, Mr. David Anders.  

 

Brother David Anders was born March 22nd, 1927 in Whigham, Georgia to the late Reverend P.R. Anders and Mattie Frazier Anders.  Brother David Anders attended school in Grady County, until he was drafted into the United States Air Force in 1945 at the age of 19.

 

 While in the military, Brother Anders earned his GED. While serving in the Military, Brother Anders attended Organizational Supply Supervisor School, Aircraft Cargo Loading School, and several course to name a few, Non-Commission officer Leadership School, Air Force Management Course, Received decorations to name a few (1) The Presidential Unit Citation Award, (2) Air Force Accommodation Medal with one Oakleaf  Cluster, (3) Outstanding Unit award and (4) Good conduct Medal, The Air Force Commendation Meritorious service award.

  Brother David as been to several foreign countries.  Brother David  took courses  at Sacramento State College, in Sacramento , California. In 1968, brother Anders took extension Courses through the University of Maryland in 1970-1972 while station in Spain and Turkey.

 After retiring in June, 1974, brother Anders went to work for the United Postal service and retied in 1981 with a total of 40 years working for the Federal Government.

 After  getting out of the Military, Brother Anders decided to make Clovis New Mexico his home.

 Brother David  received his  B.B.A Degree from, Eastern New Mexico in 1978, Major degree in Real Estate, and a Minor -General Business

Brother Anders joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Robert L. Smith Sr. Brother Anders served on the Usher's board, church Trustee, active with the Sunday School, and others auxiliaries.  Brother Anders was a faithful member until his health begin to decline and he decided to move back to Georgia with his niece.

After moving back to Georgia, brother Anders joined the Popular  Springs Missionary Baptist Church Whigham, Georgia. Brother Anders was a faithful member until his health begin to decline.

Brother David Anders leave to mourn his passing his daughter Angela Anders-Nashville Tennessee, faithful caregiver  niece/daughter Karen (Michael) Cromartie,  Adoptive daughter Cecelia Hamilton, Sacramento, California. Grandsons, David Birdsong-Nashville Tennessee,  Nephew/Grandson Dr. Michael Cromartie II,  Atlanta Georgia, Kameron Cromartie,  Whigham, Georgia ,Christopher Harrison, Whigham , Georgia .5 great grand Kids, Davion, Daisha, David M, Davelle, De'Mya Birdsong, all of Nashville Tennessee. Brothers: Joseph (Carrie) Anders, William (Eloise) Anders, all of Whigham. Sisters: Betty Williams- Green Cove Spring Fla, Virginia Anders-Atlanta, Georgia. Mable Wilson-West Palm Beach Fla. Sister in Law, Regina Anders.

Preceding his death, Brothers: Elmore and Jack Anders, Mother Daisy Davis, Mother Dorothy Butler

A Host of  nieces and nephews ,cousins and other family members and friends.
