A Time to Be Born
Mother Dorothy Anders Butler was born December 26, 1930, in Whigham, Ga to the late Rev. P.R. and Mattie Frazier Anders.
A Time to Grow
Mother Butler was raised up with her 9 siblings: Elmore, Daisy, James (all preceded her in death), David, Joseph (Carrie), Betty, Virginia, William (Eloise), and Mable. She attended Washington High School and graduated with the class of 1950.
A Time to Love
On September 12, 1953, she was united in holy matrimony to Elder Carl Lee Butler. To this union, 4 children were born. Elder Butler preceded her in death on August 5, 1982.
A Time to Work
Mother Butler Worked at Ithaca Industries in Whigham, Ga for a number of years and gained many lasting friendships.
A Time to Serve
Mother Butler served on the Mother’s Board at St. Luke P.B. Church; she also served as the President of the Ministers Wives of the Georgia State Convention, and as Vice-President of the Ministers Wives of the South Georgia P.B. Association.
A Time to Die
Mother Dorothy Anders Butler departed this world on October 19, 2018. She is survived by her children, Timothy (Robin), Stacy (Monica), Titus (Angela), Marier (Rodriquez), Dean (Marie), Karen (Michael), and Stacy (Tomekia). 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister in laws Mandy Ruth Knight, and Regina Anders, 4 god-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
