Elease (Walker) Marshall

January 13, 1936 ~ August 24, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

It is with a humble heart that we announce the passing of Mrs. Elease Marshall.  She passed Thursday August 24,2017 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Fort Walton Beach.

                                                                                                                             “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”

Mrs. Elease Walker Marshall entered this world on Monday, January 13, 1936 to the late Mr. Robert Lee Walker, Sr. and Mrs. Ruth Walker Jones.  On Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, the Shepard called home another member of His flock. Surrounded by family, Mrs. Elease Marshall, 81, quietly departed this world for everlasting life.

“A Charge to Keep I Have, A God to Glorify”

Mrs. Elease Marshall willingly confessed Christ at an early age.  She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Whigham, Georgia for many years.  Mrs. Marshall’s love and service to Christ was evident in her service to New Hope, family, friends, and others she encountered.  Mrs. Elease loved to sing.  While at New Hope, she served in the choir.  Mrs. Marshall introduced music ministry to her grandchildren by having them sing with her at various church occasions. She also served on the mission board.

On August 26, 1952, she was united in holy matrimony to her soul mate, Deacon Daniel Edward Marshall.  This divine union was blessed with six children and 61 years of marriage.

                                                                                                                       “Oh Let Your Light Shine”

Mrs. Marshall was employed with Sunnyland Packing Company, a custodian at Whigham School and nurtured many homes. Throughout the community, she was affectionately called “Ms. Elease”.  With a generous heart and contagious smile, she influenced many community members of all ages.

Those who knew Ms. Elease knew that she had a passion for keeping up with the latest fashion trends.  Ms. Elease knew what the colors were for the season to the newest fragrances available. One of her favorite leisure activities was shopping.  She demonstrated her selflessness by continuously giving to others.  Whether it was a handbag, shoes, jewelry, clothing or perfume, she had it to give.  But most importantly, she gave her time.  Anyone that she encountered she left a lifelong impression of someone who was loving, caring, and generous.

“May the Work I’ve Done, Speak for Me”

Mrs. Elease Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Daniel Marshall, Sr., parents, and a grandson.  She leaves to cherish her legacy and memory six children: Mary Alice (William) Marshall Mills of Lakeland, FL, Evangelist Barbara (Hardy) Hatcher of Cairo, GA, Dr. Maggie Marshall of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Daniel (Lannie Mae) Marshall, Jr. of Cairo, GA, Icyphine (Herman) Berry of Brandon, FL, and Johnnie (Carrie) Marshall, Sr. of Whigham, GA; sister-in-law, Etha Marshall of Union Springs, AL; grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she had a special relationship; and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
