I hadn't heard from Luther and I tried calling. He would check in with me every now and then us being good Harlem community people and Republicans. I have his last message to me on my answering machine. I decided to google and here I see he passed away in November 2017 and it is June. So when I called in March and February he had went home to be with the Lord! Well Michael and I will miss you, your love your caring and that great deep jovial voice!

It makes my heart glad to read all the condolences from my brother's friends. Thank you so much. It is still very hard for me. A void is left in our family, but you suffered long and hard. Finally our heavenly father decided you have gone through a lot and held him in his arms and said wrlcome my son. Love you Luther. Your lil sis Barbara

I am sorry for your loss. Please allow God to comfort you through this painful loss through His promise to care for our dead loved ones in the resurrection at Acts 24:15. Death was not a part of God's original purpose for mankind and that is why it is so hard to deal with this kind of loss. But our loving Heavenly Father has provided a solution to all of our problems including sickness and death through His kingdom{government} in the hands of Jesus Christ our Lord real soon so that we can welcome our loved ones back in the promised resurrection to enjoy the wonderful life He purposed on a paradise earth. {Psalms 37:9-11,29}

Luther, was a gentle giant; although he towered over everyone, he never looked down on anyone. Great smile and laugh. Good man.

I loved seeing Luther play from my end zone seat at Xavier's fieldhouse. He was a special player, and sounds like he was a special person, too. May he rest in peace. May

Luther was a great guy! Got to know him when I was a freshman at x and playing freshman basketball. He was such a caring person and would see him at Xavier games in NYC and he was always a present. We would speak a number times during the year and he was always keeping up with former teammates and friends from X. He will be missed!

So sorry to hear of Luther's passing. I remember the lunches and dinners we spent together at Xavier. Always was a friendly guy and to take time to spend time with me was always be remembered by me. I spent many a night in Schmidt fieldhouse watching Luther play. All who knew him lost a wonderful person. I pray he is in the loving arms of his creator waiting for us to join him in eternal happiness.

To the Rackley family: I saw Luther play at Xavier many times...he always gave 100% and was a credit to the university and to the game. I had the pleasure of knowing Luther personally...in fact, in the late sixties I gave him a ride to Buffalo...don't know who among the family lived there then, but it was comical seeing Luther's knees in my rear view mirror...you see, the car was a VW Beetle. Poor Luther sat in the back seat...we laughed about it...Luther never complained about it...but, we did stop frequently to stretch. Anyhow, I will always have a fond spot in my heart for Luther...RIP, my friend. God bless he and his family.

It is with deep sorrow that I learned of the passing of Luther. The last time I had the opportunity to speak and to see Luther was when he needed a few items from the store, and thankfully I was able to pick them up for him. Many times Luther and I talked on the telephone for hours with him sharing memories of his days playing basketball, traveling abroad, him escorting players internationally as well as his fond memories of his work in the "Fish That Saved Pittsburgh" (my hometown). Luther, my friend you will be missed and will forever be in my heart!! Every time I walk down 145th St, I will think of you! And although we never got the opportunity to work on that book we talked about, artistically speaking I will be sure to create something in your memory. RIP my dear friend! And may God be with his family at this time. Gwen Black, Artist/Curator

The Zotto family is terribly sorry to learn of Luther's passing. He was a fond and lasting presence in our lives. When my brothers and sisters and I were growing up, Luther often visited and we were beyond thrilled. We all sat and stared at Luther in awe! My father was forever proud when Luther called him, which was regularly until he passed in 2011. Luther's pictures and those of his teammates on the Troy High Flying Horses still hang in our family room. Every one of my nieces and nephews are well acquainted with Luther and his many successes throughout his life. Our love and prayers are with Luther and the entire Rackley family.

To Dear Will and Your Grieving Family -
Our hearts are heavy knowing that one of the bright stars in our lives has left leaving a significant void here below, still,... say it isn't so. We will miss Luther's "Dancing Eyes" and smile. He made us feel so good when he visited the family on our tiny island. He made so many friends and was always a delight to have in our presence. So glad to finally meet his wonderful daughter, Laura this past spring. Please accept our deepest condolences and know that you are in our prayers to be comforted by our Heavenly Father. Please accept our deepest condolences. Uncle Luther was a real OG and we're sorry to see him go. I only wish our kids had the opportunity to meet him. But, we will always keep his memory alive through all my childhood experiences that made him one of the coolest uncles I had. We'll miss you Uncle Luther and we know that now you're at peace. Please protect us from above because we know you'll be watching...
