Roger Vicks

It's with sadness that we announce the passing of:

Master Sergeant (Ret.) Mr. Roger Vicks, (63) of East Point Georgia passed from this walk of life into life everlasting on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. 

He was born in Cairo, Georgia May 10, 1955 and was preceded in death by the late Jewell Vicks (Mother), Late Ernest Cloud Sr. (Father), Benny Vicks (Stepfather), Roger Vicks Jr. (Son).  Roger attended and graduated from Cairo High School in 1973 where he sung in the Senior Choir and joined the United States Marine Corps during his Senior year. 

December 18, 1974 Roger entered holy matrimony with Carolyn Topsor Vicks.  He attended California Community Overseas College and Coastal Carolina Community College.  During Rogers tenure in the United States Marine Corps He severed in Desert Storm and Desert Shield.  He toured the United States of America, Korea, Japan, Iran, Iraq and Germany.  He retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1995 after he served his country for 22 years and 5 months.

Roger Gave his life to Christ in 2011 in Macon, Ga (Universal Light Christian Center), under the leadership of Pastor Gail Smith. He enjoyed bowling, football, fishing, CNN, Jeopardy and spending time with family and friends.  He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife of 44 years Carolyn Topsor Vicks of East Point, Ga; Son, Fabion Vicks & Yolande Gibson Vicks of Macon, Ga (Grandchildren -Yasmine Gibson, Alicia Cosby, Chloe Vicks, Laila Vicks); Daughter,Telicia Vicks-Smith & Willie Smith of East Point, Ga (Granddaughter-Charli Vicks); (just like his kids)Felicia Peterson, Eugene Peterson Jr. & Kanonn Peterson of Rex, Ga; Mother in law, Dorthy Topsor of Cairo, Ga; Brother, John Smith & Jessie Smith of East Point, GA; Brother, Ernest Cloud Jr. of Cairo, GA; Sister, Anne Smith-Joseph & Archer Joseph of Cairo, Ga; Sister in law but buddy Barbara Topsor Green & Emmit Green of Cairo Georgia; Brother in law, Bruce Topsor Lowe of Cairo, Ga; a host of family and friends.
