Vera Scott Obituary

Mrs. Vera Mae Scott was born on September 6, 1947 to her mother, Lillie Mae Green, age 94 and her late father Mr. Robert Lee Green Sr.

She attended Grady County Public School where she met Joseph Scott Sr.  He knew from first site that she would be his wife. They later married at the ages of 18 & 19, and from their union five children were born:  Eldest son, Joseph Scott Jr. (Sandra Monroe-Scott), Son, Robert Lee Scott Sr. (Detrial Scott), Son, John Anthony Scott (Stacy Hampton-Scott), Son, Michael Tyrone Scott (Janet McFadden), and Daughter, Cathy Melinda Scott (Michael L. Daniels).

If you knew Vera Scott, you knew that she loved her family with all her heart, and if you really knew her, you knew that she loved to go fishing; she loved music, enjoyed singing, being around her family, and playing cards.  She was a devoted wife and mother, and caring grandmother.  She was truly the salt of the earth, and always treated people the way she wanted to be treated.

Late in the evening on Thursday, November 1st, 2018, the Good Lord decided to call her home to join him in Heaven as a solider in His Army.

She had a host of family members and friends.  She leaves behind four brothers & four sisters:  Robert Lee (Carolyn) Green Jr.,  R L Green, Johnny C. Green (Margaret), Rosa Mae Green, Eloise (Johnny) Shine, Josh (Esther) Green, Georgia Mae (Curtis) Reed, Lucille Willis, and Johnny Williams.  She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Green Sr., and her sisters, Jenny Murray and Cynthia Green and brothers, John and James Green.

Vera Mae Scott had 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grand-children:

-Josylin (“Jozzie”) Daniels, and Devan Daniels

-Sierra and Kierra Scott-(“Cece and Peewee”)

-Robert Scott III (“lil’ Rob”) and Ivory Scott and Keaun Walker

-Avalyn Scott-(“lil’ mama”) and Stephanie Scott-(Janelle), Shanquane’k and Da’Shawna Scott-(“Shan and DaeDae”), and Janesha Scott- (“lil’ Bud”).

She had a host of nieces and nephews spread far and wide and five God-children.
