It is with most sincere sympathy that we formally announce the passing of, Mr. Albert Johnson. Mr. Johnson passed on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
On September 27, 1932, Albert Johnson was born to the late Charlie and Estella Johnson, in Savannah, GA. He was the third child of thirteen children. Albert was preceded in death by siblings: Leon Johnson, Bishop Janie Davis, John Henry Johnson, Margaret Wallace, Lillie Johnson and Walter Johnson.
Albert received his education in the Chatman County Public School System.
In 1954, Albert married Luegenia Hatcher, and from this union there were six children; two daughters preceded him in death, Dorothy Johnson Gloster and Cynthia Johnson Mathieu.
In 1968, Albert relocated his family to Miami, FL., where he was an entrepreneur and immediately started his own professional landscaping business. Albert’s work was heavily sort after as he focused on details and his lawns were always immaculately manicured. Albert operated a successful business until retirement.
Albert joined New Jerusalem In Its Power and Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Janie Davis where for many years he received his spiritual teachings and he faithfully played the guitar during services. Albert later joined Solid Rock In Christ Jesus Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor J. Brown.
Albert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Barbara Glover Johnson of Miami, FL; three daughters, Delores Clark (Vernon) of Miami FL, Sandra Herring (Tim) of Cairo, GA, Deborah Johnson of Miami, FL, one step-daughter, Virginia Coakley (Willie D.) of Cairo, GA; one son, Charlie Johnson of Miami, FL, and one God daughter, Barbara Flowers of Miami, FL. Siblings; Pearl Straton, Robert Johnson (Zella), Earnestine Brown, Tommy Johnson of Miami, FL, Leroy Johnson, TX, and Charlie Johnson, Jr. of Perry, FL. Two Aunts: Mamie L. West, Jones, GA, and Lucretia Smith, Philadelphia, PA. Seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
