It is with most sincere sympathy that we formally announce the passing of, Brother Bennie Lee Morgan. who transitioned from this life on Monday, July 27, 2020.

Brother Bennie Lee Morgan, better known as “Ben” was born on June 22, 1939 in Cairo, GA to the late Josephine Martin Morgan and George Morgan Sr.  He attended Washington Consolidated High School.  On April 16th, 1964 he married Shirley l Williams.

 

At an early age Ben confessed his life to Christ and up to his death was a member of Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  Ben moved his family to Palm Beach County until he retired from the City of Riviera Beach in the Public Works Dept. in 1993.  After retiring, He decided that him and his wife would return to their Roots and move back to Cairo, Georgia in 2000.

 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his westerns.  There was nothing that he couldn’t repair.  He always had a home project or car to repair.  He loved telling his family and friends his deer catching stories and would always tell you exactly how he felt.  Ben never met a stranger that he couldn’t strike up a conversation with.

 

He leaves to cherish his memories; His adoring and faithful wife of 56 years, Sister Shirley Louise Morgan, four daughters, Sandra Haliburton, Sarah Dixon and Margaret Edmond (Carl) all from West Palm Beach, Florida and Brenda Jackson; Two sons, Floyd Wilson, Pensacola Florida and James Haynes, Winter Haven, Florida; Three Children preceded him in death, sons, Calvin Morgan Sr. and Willie Frank Haynes and one daughter, Virginia Haynes. He also leaves his two sisters Mattie Deyounks, Riviera Beach Florida and Joeann Vanblunt, Tallahassee, Florida; one brother, Charles Morgan, Cairo, Georgia; Three Brothers, Othello Morgan Sr., George Morgan Jr., and Willie Morgan; and one sister, Catherine Bradshaw, preceded him in death.

Grandchildren; Shavon, Charle, Domonique, Brandon, Darren, Darius,DaJuan, Deandre, Mark, Calvin, Frankie, Mathias, Desja, Ashton, Lamario, and Duan, 19 Great Grandchildren, like a sister, Georgia Mae Craft, his ride or die nephew, Jeffery Morgan (Michelle), Cairo, Georgia.  A host of nieces, nephew and other Family members and friends.  Also, his hunting family that will miss him Dearly Mud Hogs, Riviera Beach Florida and the Across Track Hunting Club, Jameson, Florida.
