Reflections
Reflecting on the life and the loss of my sister, Bryna, has been an extremely emotional journey over the last few days. To experience both joy and sorrow simultaneously can be overwhelming. I’m joyful that Bryna was released from her suffering and sorrowful that I’ll miss her terribly. Bryna has always been a caring and loving person. Not only a loving and selfless wife and mother but also an unbelievable caregiver to so many over the years. After our Mother suffered a devastating stroke which left her partially paralyzed and unable to speak, my sister not only took Mom in and cared for her but gave her a wonderful life in Cairo for over nine years. It was truly a Godsend. Bryna always has a song in a heart and a song on her lips. She could sing away all her cares – or so it seemed. A week before my sister’s passing she said she wanted to go “Up Up and Away”. She was ready to leave this world and begin her journey to the next chapter. Until we meet again, dear Sister, you will be in my heart and in my prayers.
