Mr. Calvin Nathaniel Dennis, Sr., was born March 18, 1948., in Grady County, Georgia. He was the child of the late Cullie Mae and Calvin Dennis and the adopted son to Mamie King James. He left this life after 73 years on April 12, 2021., in Macon, Georgia. He dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age and joined Greater New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, Cairo, Georgia.
Mr. Dennis received his early education in Cairo and Thomasville counties. He was a 1968 graduate of Washington Consolidated High School and later joined the United States Army in 1969. His military tour took him to Hawaii, several Pacific Islands, and Okinawa, Japan. He also fought in the Vietnam War. After completing his tour of duty, he received an honorable discharge from the United States Army. He resumed his education at Thomas Technical Institute and earned an associate degree in Brick Masonry.
He was married to Mrs. Linda L. Dennis and survived by his children: Melissa Diane Hudson, Calvin N. Dennis Jr., Major (R) Jennifer L. Dennis, and Lai Thi Dang; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; four sisters, Barbara Clayton of Thomasville, Georgia, Shirley Brooks of Rochester, New York, Cythia Benman of Rochester, New York, Gloria Thomas of North Carolina, two brothers; Henry Thomas of Rochester, New York, and Anthony Thomas of Rochester, New York., one daughter-in- law, two son-in-laws and two brother-in-laws. Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
