Cheryll Adams Lee passed away Jan. 23, 2022 in Valdosta, GA, where she resided with her husband Denis. Public visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 28th, from 10am to 7pm at the Southview Mortuary in Tifton, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 3pm at the Westview Memorial Gardens in Ashburn, GA.
The repast will be held directly after the service, at the Turner County High School cafeteria. Cheryll Ann Adams was born on October 5, 1948 to John P. & Mary Frances (Jarrell) Adams in Cairo, GA. Cheryll graduated from Washington Consolidated High School in Cairo, where she participated in band, chorus and 4-H. She was an alumna of Albany State University with a B.S. in Nursing. She married Denis Lee on June 6, 1969 in Albany, GA. Cheryll worked her entire career as a Registered Nurse for hospitals, such as Phoebe Putney in Albany, St. Francis in Columbus, Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville, and South Georgia Medical Center, in Valdosta, where she retired. After retiring from health care, she often served as a substitute teacher in the Valdosta City School District. Cheryll Adams Lee is survived by her husband (Denis Lee), her two children (Christopher Lee & Dionne Nunez), three brothers (John P. Adams, Jr., Leander Adams, & William Michael Adams), her four grandchildren (John Phillip & Christian Lee and Kiana and Ayanna Nunez), as well as a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Honorary Pallbearers are: Christopher Lee, Cedric Adams, Rodney Adams, Timothy Adams, Alvin Lamar Jr., and Patrick Lee. Flowers can be sent to Southview Mortuary. The family would like to thank Pastor David Adams for offering Words of Comfort at the service. Due to COVID-19 concerns, everyone in attendance at the viewing & service must wear a mask & social distancing is encouraged.
