Deacon Daniel E. Marshall Sr., Whigham community, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Seven Hills Nursing Center, Tallahassee, Fla. Mr. Marshall was born at Union Spring, Ala., on August 5, 1929. He was the son of Daniel and Icyphine Marshall. A truck driver, he was married to Elease Walker. He was a former Whigham City Council member and attended Bullock County schools in Alabama. In addition to his wife, Elease Marshall, he is survived by daughters, Mary Alice (William) Mills, Lakeland, Fla., Barbara (Hardy) Hatcher, Cairo, Maggie Marshall, Fort Walton Beach, Fl Icyphine (Herman) Berry, Brandon, Fla.; sons, Daniel (Lannie) Marshall Jr., Cairo, Johnnie (Carrie) Marshall Sr., Whigham; Aunt Ollie Mae Johnson, Columbus; sister-in-law Etha Marshall, Union Spring, Ala.; and a host of grandchildren,great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Celebration

The Homegoing Celebration of Deacon Daniel Marshall will be conducted Monday, September 23, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., at Greater New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo. Interment will follow in Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Pine Park Georgia.
