Danny Garland, the son of the late Freddie and Thelma Garland, was born on July 16, 1953 in Grady County, Georgia. He joined Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age.

He was educated in the Grady County School system. Later he joined the U.S. Marines and was honorably discharged. Then he moved to Virginia where he worked at the Smithsonian Institute for a number of years. Then he moved to Piola Pa, where he worked for the City of Philadelphia.

He was a loving brother. He leaves to cherish his memories, Freddie Garland, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Betty (James) Baker, Minister Larry (Mary) Garland of Cairo, Ga., Sharon ( Shauen) Morrison of Columbus, Ga., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and also a very special friend Mary Holmes of Cairo.

Funeral services for Mr. Danny O'Neal Garland will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Cloud Funeral Home Chapel, 335 1st Avenue N.E., Cairo, Ga. Elder Henery Parries, officiating.
