Funeral services for Eddie Lee Wooden of Philadelphia, PA, formerly of Cairo, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Cairo. Rev. David Worthy and Rev. Jamie Wooden will officiate services with interment to follow at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Cairo.

Mr. Wooden was born on July 21, 1941 in Whigham to the late Savannah Walker and Ira Wooden. He attended Washington Carver High School, Miami, FL and was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Cairo. Mr. Wooden was married to Ms. Vergie Albery. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in Philadelphia, PA.

Survivors to cherish his memory include his daughter Tracy Wooden; son Gary Wooden; stepson Ricky Huntley (Florence); two grandchildren Danielle Woooden and Machaela Wooden; two great-grandchildren D'Mauri Wooden and D'Maiyah Wooden all of Cairo; sisters Delois and special brother-in-law David Anderson, Donna Walker, Thomasville, and Barbara McCrea of Philadelphia, PA; brother Henry Lewis Smith (Judy) of Miami, FL; special aunt Bernice Wright of Cairo; five loving half-brothers Ira Wooden of Whigham, Gary Wooden (Carol) of Whigham, Rev. James Wooden (Darlene) of Cairo, Lewis Wooden (Linda) of Huntsville, AL, Jerry Wooden (Ann) of Miami, FL; three loving half-sisters Claudia W. Morris of California, Hazel Sanders (Jimmy) of Bainbridge, Marie Durden (Thomas) of Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by a half-brother Eddie Weaver and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
