Elder James Edward Anderson was born on October 1, 1936 in Thomas County Georgia, to the late Lee Anderson and Irene Wright Anderson. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home. Elder Anderson was well known throughout Grady County and South Georgia. He graduated from Washington Consolidated High School, Cairo, Georgia. He retired from W.B. Roddenbery Company after 30 years of loyal service. He served as Pastor for 12 years until he became ill at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, of the Valdosta District. He leaves to mourn a devoted loving wife Missionary Myrtle Anderson for 54 years, two daughters Kwandolyn (Bobby) Cherry of Thomasville, Georgia, Malicia (Kevin) Corker, Cairo, Georgia, two sons Gerald Anderson, and Joel Anderson of Cairo, Georgia, two brothers, Horice (Georgia) Anderson of Columbus, Georgia, Ernest Anderson of Cairo, Georgia, two sisters, Ruby Anderson and Lorene Anderson of Cairo, Georgia, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death, two sons, Winfred B. Anderson and Darron V. Anderson.
Homegoing Celebration
The Homegoing Celebration of Elder James Edward Anderson will be conducted Monday, August 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at Greater New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo. Interment will follow in Crestview Cemetery.
