Essie Mae Hall Harrison, know as "Grace" was born November 1, 1926 in Grady County, Georgia. The daughter of the late Lester Hall, Henrietta Thomas Mills and Clisby Mills Sr. Essie quietly departed this life on Sunday, October 27, 2013. She was predeceased by her brother Lester Hall Jr. and sister Louise Harris.

In December 1946 Essie was united to the late Randolph Harrison. This union was blessed with six daughters: Gloria Williamson, Helen Johnson, Earnestine Taylor, Cynthia Ragin, Anita Hammond and Donna Brown; two sons: Jerome Harrison and the late Randolph Harrison Jr.

Essie's relationship with the Lord started at an early age. She was baptized at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Whigham, Georgia. After marriage she worshiped at Traveler's Rest Missionary Baptist Church. She served as an usher, deaconess, Mother of Mission Board and the Order of Eastern Stars.

Left to celebrate her "Home Going" is six daughters and son-n-laws, Gloria (John) Williamson of Monroe, NC., Helen (James) Johnson, Atlanta, GA., Earnestine (Freddy) Taylor, Warner Robins, GA., Cynthia (Edgar) Ragin, Atlanta, GA., Anita Hammonds, Fort Valley, GA., Donna (Patrick) Brown, Atlanta, GA.,; one adopted daughter Fannie Mamendows, Ft. Valley, GA.; one son Jerome (Geraldine) Harrison, Fort Valley, GA., fourteen grandchildren, five great-grands, three sisters Virginia (Arthur) Lane of Miama, FL., Margie Fitchett of Pensacola, FL., Mary (Thomas) Korma of New Castle, DE.; three brothers Vonzile Lee (Gloria) Mills of Thomasville, GA., Clisby (Helen) Mills, Jr. and Tommy L. (Dorothy) Mills of Whigham, GA, many nieces and nephews, and Christian friends, and a special sister in Christ Sister Nora Johnson of Bainbridge, GA.

CELEBRATION SERVICE

The funeral service of Essie Mae Hall Harrison "GRACE" will be conducted Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Travel Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 661 Cal Thomas Rd. Whigham.
