Brother James Edward Smith was born on October 18, 1957 in Orlando, Florida and departed this life on July 10, 2013. He was the son of Charlie Smith and Susie Watson-Smith. He accepted CHRIST at an early age and became a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Medulla, Florida. He attended the Polk County School System. He was a mechanic, a truck driver, and worked various jobs during his life. He was previously employed by Oil Dri Corporation of Georgia for thirteen years. He was employed by Total Transportation until he became ill.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Yalanda Robinson-Smith; parents; Charlie and Susie Smith of Lakeland, Florida; a precious daughter; Caterra Shmiya Smith of Cairo, Georgia; sons; James Edward (Santelia) Smith, Jr. of Lakeland, Florida and Demetrius Graham of Bowling Green, Florida; grandchildren; Akeelah Smith, Angel Thomas and Jakeria Smith of Lakeland, Florida; Javonte Smith of Plant City, Florida and Keavin Winnans of Tampa, Florida; stepchildren; Jemiya Wright and Devin Wright of Cairo, Georgia and Angela (Donna Ray) McCraw and Dollie (Donald) McNeil of Meigs, Georgia; step grandchildren; Bryanna McCraw, Kyanna McCraw, Kiersten McNeil and Kristion McNeil all of Meigs, Georgia; siblings; Gloria Watts of Tampa, Florida; Debra Smith, Velma (Alphonso) Milton and Gwendolyn (Ronald) Owens of Lakeland, Florida; Gwendolyn Keith of Lake Butler, Florida; Priscilla Jenkins of Meigs, Georgia and Michael (Coretta) Shaw of Groveland, Florida; uncle; Frank Smith of Newark, New Jersey; aunts; Maggie Watson of Tampa, Florida, and Mary Marshall of Lakeland, Florida; mother-in-law, Earnestine Washington of Cairo, Georgia, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Susie James, Andrew James, Tom Watson and Ida Watson; sisters; Eddie Rene Smith and a sister that passed away at birth.

FUNERAL CELEBRATION

The funeral service of Brother James Edward Smith will be conducted Saturday,July 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., at The Coney Funeral Home Chapel 1404 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue Lakeland, Florida. Reverend Jennifer Baker, Presiding; Minister David Bell, Officiating.

INTERMENT

Forrest Lawn Cemetery Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Cairo, Ga.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., at The Coney Funeral Home 1404 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue Lakeland, Florida.
