Jane Denise Baker Walker

Jane Denise Baker Walker was born to the late Clifford and Estella Hines Baker in Cairo, Georgia on November 24, 1959. She was the youngest of eight children. She was the only child from the union of Clifford and Estella Baker. From the union of Estella and Elijah Williams there were seven children.

Jane received her education from Grady County public schools. She graduated in 1976. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Beautiful Light Baptist Church. Jane was employed at Wal-Mart. There she worked for about fifteen years on the night shift.

She was united in marriage to Lannis Walker for a few years. To this union there were no children. They adopted Anatole E. Cloud, Sr.

On January 11, 2014 Jane passed away suddenly at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Georgia.

Jane leaves to cherish her memories and estranged husband Lannis Walker; three sisters, Ethel (Charles) McLeod of Cairo, Georgia, Willie Mae (James) Woods of Pensacola, Florida, Vernita (Curtis) Willis of Cairo, Georgia; two brothers, David (Lillian) Williams of Brooklyn, New York and Frank (Isoline) Williams of Cairo, Georgia; two aunts, Ernestine Hines of Tucson, Arizona and Romell Hines of Charlotte, North Carolina. She also leaves a special god child, Anatole E. Cloud, Sr; one brother in law Johnny Walker, Jr of Cairo, Georgia; two sisters in laws Odessa Rutledge of Syracuse, New York, and Mariah S. Hubbard of Cairo, Georgia.

She leaves a special friend, Romidel Cooper of Cairo, Georgia, an adoptive mother, Lee Ethel Cooper of Cairo, Georgia, five adopted sisters Jennifer (Gilbert) Mainville of Clinton, Maryland, Shirley (Nathaniel) Jolly, Brenda (Claxton) Copeland, Methel Cooper, Viola (Willie Shazer) Cooper all of Cairo, Georgia; and two adopted brothers, Richard Cooper of Cairo, Georgia, and Andrew (Doris) Cooper of Thomasville, Georgia. She also leaves a special classmate and friend Shaneatha McNair of Whigham, Georgia, and a special adopted sister Grace Weaker of Cairo, Georgia and a host of other relatives and friends.

CELEBRATION SERVICE

The funeral service for Jane Denise Baker Walker will be conducted Saturday January 18, 2014, at 2:00 pm, at St. Clair Primitive Baptist Church 1190 Calvary Road Cairo.
