It is with most sincere sympathy that we formally announce the passing of, Ms. Jessie Williams who transitioned from this life on Tuesday August 2, 2022.

Service for Ms. Jessie Williams of Thomasville, Georgia will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Crestview Cemetery, Cairo at 11:00 AM.

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Ms. Jessie Mae Williams (Dickey) gained her wings and peacefully transitioned at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, Georgia. The beautiful and loving Jessie Mae Williams was born on September 7, 1943, in Cairo, Georgia to the late Lou Jessie Bentley Williams Daniels and Willie James Williams.

As a child growing up in Cairo, Georgia with devoted and nurturing parents and six vibrant and energetic siblings, Ms. Williams attended St. Thomas Primitive Baptist Church where the foundation of her faith was established and nurtured. After graduating from high school, she was inspired to achieve a successful career as an early childhood paraprofessional and after school childcare worker. She had a remarkable passion for cooking. Ms. Williams often prepared meals for her family, friends, the community, and local charity soup kitchens during the holiday seasons. Ms. Williams also was an avid fisherman, and she spent many days of her retirement at the local fishing pond which gave her great joy.

Ms. Williams was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Thomasville, Georgia. 

Ms. Williams took on the formidable task of motherhood of her only fur baby, Meiko Williams. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving fur son, Meiko Williams of Thomasville Georgia; one sister, Hattie Tucker of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three brothers, Willie R. Williams (Jean) of Summerville, South Carolina, Sammie Daniels (Josephine) of Marietta, Georgia, and David Daniels of Thomasville, Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
