It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lela Grant of Calvary, Georgia.  Mrs. Grant was gifted back to the Lord on Sunday, January 1 2017 in Cairo, Georgia.

Lela Johnson Grant was born December 31, 1937 in Decatur County, GA to the late James Morris and Eldist Johnson.

Lela attended the public schools of Grady County, and confessed Christ in 1955 under the leadership of the late Rev. E.E. Mitchell, Sr. She was joined in holy matrimony to Sammy J. Grant on December 24, 1956.

Preceding her in death were one son, Willie Joe Grant; one grandson, Cedric Grant; two brothers, James Johnson and Alex Johnson; and one sister, Dollie Copeland.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one son, Walter Grant of Cairo, GA.; one grandson, Walter Grant, Jr. of Cairo, GA.; three sisters, Mattie Hutchinson, Carrie Johnson both of Calvary, GA., and Eldie (Minister James) Birkins of Whigham, GA.; three sister –n-laws, Christine Willis and Betty Grant of Cairo, GA, and Edith Johnson of Tampa, FL ; two great granddaughters, Cameshaa Grant and Amiracle Grant both of Tallahassee, FL. and a host of other relatives and friends.
