Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Mae Golden will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 12 noon at New St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church 6745 Fairbank Ferry Havana, Florida 32333. Pastor James Youmas, officiating. Interment at Barber Cemetery in Havana, Florida.
Mrs. Lillie Mae Golden was born June 24, 1924, in Gadsden County. She was the daughter of the late William Youmas and Alexis Allen. She was educated in the Gadsden County Public School system. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was a faithful member of New St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church until her death. She was also the oldest "mother" to serve on New St. Mary Mothers' Board. She was married to the late Benjamin Golden, Sr. and from this union they had 14 children.
She leaves to mourn her passing eleven children: {six sons} Willie (Vanessa) Golden of Live Oak, FL; Charlie (Katherine) Golden of Detroit, MI; Michael (Lillie) Golden of TDC South Korea; Eddie Golden of Tallahassee, FL; Clifford Golden of Detroit, MI; Kenneth Golden of Detroit, MI; {five daughters} Clara (Lee John) Hayes of Tallahassee, FL; Viola Golden of Detroit, MI; Cora Golden of Tallahassee, FL; Lois(Frank) Johnson of Havana, FL; Mary G. Clark of Tallahassee, FL and one surviving sister, Annie Bell Youmas of Rochester, NY; two sister in-laws, Emma Franklin of Tallahassee, FL and Mildred Gill of Miami, FL; forty grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren, forty-two great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding her in death: three sons: Hilton Golden, Leroy Golden and Benjamin Golden.
