Mrs. Lillie Thornton Jenkins was born on June 16, 1948 in Cairo, Georgia to the late Mrs. Bessie Cooper and Mr. Ulyssee Thornton.

She attended Washington Consolidated High School with the class of 1966. She was a supervisor for many years at ITT and, later worked for many years at the Textron Company. She was loved & admired by everyone she met. Lillie was a member of The Greater New Corinth M.B. Church of Cairo, Georgia.

On March 8, 1986 she was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Leroy Jenkins who preceded her in death. Lillie will be truly missed. She leaves to cherish her loving memories four sisters, Earlene Cooper, Rutha Cox (Dellise), Mary Murry (Albert), Cynthia Gordon (Ronnie), one god-sister Teresa Gee-Harris. Two brothers, Lannis Thornton (Carolyn) and Robert Thornton; all of Cairo, Georgia. One brother Emickle Thornton who precedes her in death. One loving step-daughter Barbara Logan of Columbia, South Carolina, and one step-son Curtis Jenkins, Orlando, Fl. Special niece and nephews, Grady and Retha Lowe of Boynton Beach, Florida. Devoted neighbors Barbara Lockhart, Eugene Thomas, and Robert James. A devoted cousin James Durden and a host of loving nieces and nephews and countless other family members and friends.

CELEBRATION SERVICE

The funeral service for Mrs. Lillie Thornton Jenkins will be conducted Saturday December 7, 2013, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 811 9th St. N.W. Cairo.
