Louise Garland

It is with most sincere sympathy that we formally announce the passing of, Ms. Louise Garland who transitioned from this life on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Louise Garland 74, 201 3rd Ave, was called home to be with the lord Thursday October 28, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 5, 1947, in Cairo, Georgia, to the late Richard Garland, Sr. and Lois Garland. She resided in Tampa Florida for fifty years. She was the fifth child of her siblings,

Louise attended Grady County School, and graduated from Washington Consolidated High class of 1965, she was devoted homemaker. She previously worked at Fabric King and National Linens in Tampa Florida. Louise enjoyed cooking, traveling, and family gatherings. To Know her is to love her, she was known to her family and friends as “EZ” but, took no short cuts to life. She was hard and fair and would give you the shirt off her back if needed.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by long-time life partner Earl Johnson; one brother Richard Garland Jr; one half-brother Terry Garland; one aunt, Sara Jane Gurley; one uncle, Walker Cal Butler Jr. her maternal grandparents Leo and Walter Butler Sr. and paternal grandparents Ola and James Garland; great nephew Keith Cook.

Louise leaves to cherish her memories three sisters, Margaret Garland, Ruby Harrison of Cairo Georgia; Sarah Wilson of Tampa Florida; Brother Bobby Garland (Amita) of Tampa, Florida; two Aunts Hattie Helms (Odell), Ocie Butler, both of Tampa Florida, one Uncle O.C. Gurley  of Reno Georgia; two half sisters Shirley Garland of Cairo Georgia, Patricia Garland of Hollywood Florida; three half brothers David Garland, Lavon Garland, and Yentile Stinson of Cairo Georgia. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews; some special friends Wille Mall Smart, Willine Taylor, Rosa Gurley, Yvette Sutton (Earnest). 

We would also like to give a special thanks to the caregivers from family and friends for their diligent support and service towards Louise.
