It is with most sincere sympathy that we formally announce the passing of, Ms. Mary "Mae" Cooper Herring who transitioned from this life on Monday August 1, 2022.
Service for Ms. Mary "Mae" Cooper Herring will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 11:00 AM at Walden Cemetery, Whigham, Georgia.
On Monday, August 1, 2022 the Lord called sister Mary Cooper Herring Home.
Mary Cooper known as "Mae" was born on May 4, 1946 in Whigham Ga. to the late Collin Leeks and the late Ada Cooper Daniels.
At an early age Mary confessed and surrendered her life to God at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo Ga.
Mary Cooper was joined in holy matrimony to Joe Nathan Herring and to that union no children were born however Mary was the mother of many children namely Dayquan Herring, Joe Herring Jr, Candy Herring and Rakim Herring.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Annette Cooper Spence (Ulysees), Allie Daniels, Devorah Dismuke all of Cairo, Ga, Gladys Jhynnel Bowden (Jonas) of Whigham Georgia, and brothers, George Daniels (Deborah) of Palm Coast, Florida and Foster Adams, Stroudsburg Pa.
Mary had siblings from her fathers' side of the family, they include brothers Walter Leeks, of Whigham, Ga, Colin Leeks, Jr. of Cairo Ga, sisters Joann
Anderson of Cairo, Ga, Dorothy Kinder of Whigham, Brenda Baily of Ct, Theresa and Angela Leeks of Whigham and Barbara Smith of Donalsonville.
Mary also leaves Uncle Samuel Cooper (Pam) of Cairo Ga., Aunts Lois Parker of Cairo, Ga and Stella Mann of Lumberton NC.
And a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
