Rosa Elaine Corker

Rosa was born October 7, 1946, to the late Gladys and Columbus Corker. At an early age, she joined First Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Whigham, GA. Then later she
moved her membership to Cedar Spring A.M.E. Church. After graduating from Washington Consolidated High School, she then moved to Newark, NJ in the year of 1971, where she then moved her membership to Saint James A.M.E. Church.

After retiring from NJ Transit, Rosa returned to Cairo where she involved herself in fellowship and worship throughout the community and was active in her class reunion of 2006. Rosa
had a way of expressing her warm, loving smile and kindness to everyone through conversations and encouragement. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting other states and countries.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stacy Corker.

Rosa leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Cecilla Corker, one son-in-law, Johnnie Boykin, two grandkids, Elijah Oates and Nadiah Tucker, two great-grandkids, Jah’Quavian Oates and Xai’Leiigh Oates, one sister-in-law, Jewel Corker of California, her lifelong sisters, Terry Corker of Cairo, GA, and Patrice Graham of Orlando, FL, and a host of nieces, cousins, and friends.
